Nora’s Kabob was founded by Sevi Sinanian, an Iranian-Armenian chef, and his family to bring authentic Middle Eastern flavors to Maryland. Named after their mother Nora, the restaurant honors family meals and home-cooked traditions. Since opening the first location in Ellicott City in 2012, the goal has been simple: serve fresh, authentic Mediterranean dishes that everyone can enjoy at home, at work, or with friends, with multiple locations now in Maryland.

Our dishes feature fresh ingredients and bold flavors, from kabobs and gyros to salads, rice, and classic Middle Eastern staples like hummus. Pomegranate plays a key role, reflecting centuries of Persian and Armenian culinary tradition. With customizable catering, takeout, and dine-in options, Nora’s Kabob provides a welcoming experience for families, offices, and events, sharing the rich flavors of history in every meal.

Few fruits have the cultural resonance or play such a central role in Middle Eastern cuisine as the pomegranate. Pomegranate is one of the oldest fruits known to mankind. This fruit is thought to have originated in Persia and commonly found in Georgia, Armenia, and other Mediterranean lands. In China, the fruit's origins can be traced back to 100 BC. Actual fossilized remains found in Armenia prove that the country's interaction with this amazing fruit goes as far back as 1000 BC.
